Diet Plan For Anemia- Anemia is a decrease in the total amount of red blood cells (RBCs) or hemoglobin in the blood, or a reduced ability of the blood to carry oxygen.

Symptoms Of Anemia:

When anemia appears slowly, symptoms are often vague and may include:

  • Feeling tired,
  • Weak,
  • Confusion,
  • Fainting,
  • Increased thirst
  • Short of breath,
  • Or poor exercise capacity.

Treatment Plans For Anemia:

It often includes dietary changes. The best diet for anemia includes foods rich in iron and other vitamins essential for the production of hemoglobin and red blood cells. It should also include foods that help the body absorb iron better.


  • Leafy greens vegetables especially dark ones.
  • Eating leafy greens with foods that contain vitamin C such as oranges, red peppers, and strawberries may increase iron absorption.
  • Meat and poultry.
  • Some seafood provides heme iron. Fish high in iron include sardines, canned or fresh tuna, fresh salmon.
  • Fortified foods with iron.
  • Beans- Kidney beans, chickpeas, soybeans, black-eyed peas, pinto beans, black beans, peas, lima beans
  • Seeds & Nuts.
  • Add foods rich in folate and vitamin B-12 to support red blood cell production.


Don’t eat iron-rich foods with foods or beverages that block iron absorption. These include coffee or tea, eggs, foods high in oxalates, and foods high in calcium.
